  • Therapy Groups

We’re excited to offer therapeutic groups starting in 2025!

Therapy groups are often more structured than support groups and focus on helping you develop
specific tools that you can use day to day.
Our groups incorporate mindfulness skills and opportunities to reflect on topics
that are often hard to discuss with family and friends.

We know from focusing on this work for over a decade that when you can share your
joys, grief, and pain in community in a meaningful way,
the heaviness of your struggles feels a little lighter.

Please note, because our groups are therapeutic and covered by insurance,
only Colorado residents are eligible to participate at this time.

    Serious Illness Group

Living with a serious or life-limiting illness can feel like just that: limiting

    But it doesn’t have to.

Connect with others & build skills to weather the ups and downs of your health a little easier.

    Caregiver Group

Caring for someone else can be a full time job, much less trying to care for yourself, too.

This group will help you carve out the time you need to find balance, gain and share caregiving wisdom, and learn tools for navigating the roadblocks along the way.

    Additional Groups

We will be offering an Anticipatory Grief Group in Spring 2025!

While many groups exist for those grieving the death of someone, very little support exists for those who are grieving ongoing decline n a very ill loved one over the course of months or years.

    Payment/Insurance

Groups run for 8 consecutive weeks, 75 min sessions. We take great care in screening for groups to ensure the group is a good fit for your needs. The day/time of the group will be coordinated with group members.

We are in network with the following insurances for group therapy. Please note, because of the significant amount of time and effort needed to offer groups covered by insurance, there is a $30 fee for any missed group session, for any reason. This allows us to be able to offer insurance-based groups in a sustainable and meaningful way.

    Insurances Accepted:

    • Medicare Part B

    • Kaiser

    • Kaiser Medicare

    • Cigna

    • Cigna Medicare

Private pay: $50/session ($400 total for 8 week group)

    Serious Illness Group

Living with a serious or life-limiting illness can feel like just that: limiting

    But it doesn’t have to.

Drawing on principles from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), this therapeutic group will help participants to strengthen coping skills, practice mindfulness, explore personal values, and find community.
We’ll explore themes that often come up when facing health issues like identity and independence, relationship changes, worries around illness progression or dying, and more.

You might be a good fit for this group if you:

    • Have a diagnosis of a serious or progressive illness, including (but not limited to) cancer, heart or lung disease, kidney failure, history of stroke, Parkinson’s Disease, etc.
    • Experience worry, sadness, grief, anger or trouble coping with your diagnosis
    • Want to learn tools and tips to live your best life, regardless of your health
    • Want to connect with others with similar struggles

    Navigating Caregiving Group

Caring for someone with a serious or advanced illness is HARD, but it’s not the only story that exists!

Drawing on principles from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), this therapeutic group will help participants to strengthen coping skills, practice mindfulness, explore personal values, and find community.
We’ll explore common themes that come up when navigating caregiving including changing relationship dynamics, grieving over time, advocating for your loved one in a challenging healthcare system, and finding balance and connection through it all.

You might be a good fit for this group if you:

    • Are a care partner for a loved one with a serious or progressive illness, including (but not limited to) dementia, cancer, heart or lung disease, kidney failure, history of stroke, Parkinson’s Disease, etc.
    • Experience overwhelm, depression, worry, anger, grief or trouble coping with caregiving
    • Want to learn tools and tips to find balance in taking care of yourself and your loved one
    • Want to connect with others with similar struggles

    Additional Groups

Group therapy offers a unique opportunity to connect with others with similar experience and gain perspective outside of your own. Our goal is to continue to offer new groups on an ongoing basis that incorporate creative, evidence-based approaches.
